Spring 2013 Trends | Neon Clothing

Neon is for the bold and the brave—or those who just want to add a little life to their wardrobe. There is no need to worry about looking too flashy: Neon has come a long way since the days of eye-searing paint splatters.

Neon was one of the top trends presented at the London Fashion Week (S/S 2013

Here’s how you can add some glow to your closet.

You wouldn’t think that beige and neon would work, but somehow this light tan tank with its pop of neon yellow embroidery is does. It’s a grownup take on the neon trend.

If you’re still feeling a little shy on the fluorescent, try a neon leather bracelet. The gold plate hardware takes it from trendy to classic, while still adding a bold note to any outfit. Image

Your possessions deserve a little neon love, too. Throw this bright yellow satchel over your shoulder and glow like a beacon.

It takes guts to pull on skinny jeans in neon coral, but we think you’ve got what it takes. Top them with more neon or bring them down a notch with neutral colors

For more inspiration, here are how some of our fave designers did it!

Beautiful Things In Life

“Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year, style is what you pick out of that fashion…It’s what you make of it once you’ve learned what to accept and what to ignore based on what looks good on you.”

DVF Spills: Top 3 Picks for Spring / Summer 2012

Diane von Furstenberg spring fashion picksDiane von Furstenberg, in an interview with ABC News, discussed her essentials this spring season listing her top three picks for spring. A fan of this big name in the fashion industry. Because business remains business, I´m not surprised to see that the list  shadows the essential features of her DVF Spring 2012 RTW.

So what does DVF wants us all to have in our closets this spring?

1. A white Dress

Diane von Furstenberg Spring 2012 catwalk opened with a gorgeous white wrap dress, and logically we would understand that now. A white dress is the number one on the list, and we couldn’t agree more! It´s dainty and clean, soft under the sun, and quite easy to dress up and down. It´s like styling a clean sheet, you start from scratch and can have fun with the colors and accessories.

2. Utilitarian Florals

I think we all know by now that  bold floral prints are a primary trend for spring and summer 2012. But according to Diane, its not just any floral dress that does the trick. DVF describes the right florals to be blooming with an overall utilitarian shape. In simpler terms, go for floral prints that are trendy and creatively designed, but remain functional rather than exaggerated.

So there you have it ladies, when shopping for that floral summer dresses , remember what DVF said to look for in a printed dress.

3. Unusual Pastels

Power pastel trend is a must for just about all the designers this seasons, and DVF is not an exception. Rest assured, you can most definitely go out in your statement pastel combo!

Diane von Furstenberg, however,  doesn´t go for a typical pastel matching and colorblocking, she aims at unusual pastel combinations. For example, go for pastel orange trousers, a neon green shirt, pulled together with a pastel gray jacket and, well, a slim contrast belt. Or opt for a layered dress with surprising pastel design. Now this woman knows what she is talking about!

So there we have our top 3 picks for DVF, shall we head off to the mall and start stashing some florals and pastels, after all, we do have DVF’s blessing!

In The Navy…

Although not a likely trend for summer, navy cropped up on several catwalks and many celebrities have been sporting the colour for both day and night. I’ve got kind of a “thing” for the color navy blue. Like the classic song by Diane Renay, I’ve been thinking a lot about the color, sailors, and even marine. This collection however, shows navy in a classic, chic, and ROYAL way.

Pinboard: Spring / Summer Pastels

This season, the shades are simply delectable: sugared almond hues, ice cream flavors and boiled sweets. Yummy! Something pretty, subtle, and sweet: pastels. A paler take on the color-blocking trend, think light pink plus mint green plus daffodil!

Love My Leggings!

So yesterday was an “all leggings” day for me, can you blame me?

During the day, It was pretty cold so I wanted to be comfortable yet still sport my usual funky look. I usually like to choose one piece that is pretty out there and keep the rest simple and neat. My funky piece was the bright green leggings I recently bought from Mango. The jacket was beige and simple (knitted), camel boots, and my top was a coral Tommy Hilfiger. This is what I wore…

At night, I met up with a couple of friends and went pubbing, I went for Leggings as well, but this time, a little more sexy. What can say sexy more than Leather! Kept the top simple, and black was my color for the night! My boots were also partly leather but with simple details because I didn’t want to run the risk of looking like a leather store threw up on me! My coat was a little bling bling with fur yet simple in details and nude color. It added elegance without being over the top. This is what i wore…
