Summer has hit us with a bang and I thought now is the time I start posting summer looks that I simply LOVE!!! So here is my first batch…
As mentioned in my previous blog, Denims have now taken a fashion curve/statement of their own. To add on to my Denim Prints’ blog, I have decided to list the top 3 denim trends that I feel are super eye catchers and a must have this season.
These are all styles that have been really popular among the celebs and denim lovers in general, so you should be able to associate very well with them.
When ombre is done just right, it looks amazing. Ombre jeans are hot this season and goes well with most tops!Not only are ombre jeans original and eye catching, but they’re also highly flattering. Dark tones of denim at the thighs fading into lighter washes at the ankles elongate legs and slims hips. Vibrant ombre jeans in shades of pink, yellow, or baby blue are also fun alternatives to traditional denim.
Say goodbye to your classic blues and have some fun with polka dot print styles! This print has to be the cutest and most fun for me. Not only do I feel super girly wearing it, it gives a subtle uplift to any look you pull off. Plus with polka dots trending right now, one can only think what better than to wear dots on dots. Give it a try!
Wax coated jeans are a hot fashion trend, gaining popularity thanks to street style bloggers. Girls, across all ages, have been pretty interested in wearing waxed jeans, especially in colous like burgundy, purple, chocolate brown and black, and here’s why: They are a nice change to ordinary denim, provide interesting textural interest, and also a great substitute for leather pants at a fraction of the price. These jeans look dressier than ordinary denim, and the vibe is edgy, tough, rock ‘n’ roll and modern.

July is just about done with and summer will shortly come to an end. As for me, I’m still in summer fashion mode yet starting to take a look at some fall inspiration. Street style as usual gives me the bits and bests of all styles and seasons, which is probably why I simply can’t get enough. Did I mention how addicted I have become to Pinterest! Take a look at some of the looks that made me ache a little inside, I’m quite sure theres a little for every fashion taste bud in here. Enjoy xx
How many times would you be out somewhere, get your eye caught by someone wearing a gorgeous outfit, a beautiful bag, or the sexiest shoes, then keep them in mind and go shopping with the intention of getting something just like them! We all look at street styles for inspiration, and that is more than OK!
When you get to a certain fashion maturity, which I believe is that stage where you are perfectly in tune with your own style and how its speaks to you, you can easily point out the outfits that will look good on you and the ones that reflect who you are. I remember the good old days when I would literally walk into a fitting room with more than 25 pieces and come out with 1 or 2 to buy. Now, most of the times I have 2 pieces to try and I frequently end up buying both!
Fashion maturity cant also make you pick bits and pieces of fashion inspiration from just about anywhere. You will spot the looks you like, and you will go looking for the looks you know you need to have! Plus, many runways, as gorgeous as the models may look and the outfits may seem, are things that simply cannot be applied to our daily life! We all have those gorgeous party pieces that stay in the closet from season to season waiting to be worn! But lets face it, unless you’re the kind of person that has a “red carpet” event on a weekly basis, you’ll be looking for outfits and clothes that can be worn well with other pieces in the closet and on more than one type of occasion.
So the next time you fall in love with someone’s outfit, take in what you can, learn, and apply! This is how we grow …This is how your inner fashionista matures…
“A beautiful dress may look beautiful on a hanger, but that means nothing. It must be seen on the shoulders, with the movement of the arms, the legs, and the waist.”
― Coco Chanel
“Do what makes you happy;
Be with who makes you smile;
Laugh as much as you breathe;
& love as long as you live.
― Abercrombie & Fitch
“It’s not very easy to grow up into a woman. We are always taught, almost bombarded, with ideals of what we should be at every age in our lives: “This is what you should wear at age twenty”, “That is what you must act like at age twenty-five”, “This is what you should be doing when you are seventeen.” But amidst all the many voices that bark all these orders and set all of these ideals for girls today, there lacks the voice of assurance. There is no comfort and assurance. I want to be able to say, that there are four things admirable for a woman to be, at any age! Whether you are four or forty-four or nineteen! It’s always wonderful to be elegant, it’s always fashionable to have grace, it’s always glamorous to be brave, and it’s always important to own a delectable perfume! Yes, wearing a beautiful fragrance is in style at any age!”

We all know the deal with body types and fashion, (I still cant seem to figure out what fruit I am??), so I will spare you the lecture of “dress for your type”. We Often step into a fitting room with 10 different dresses and end up with maybe 2 (3 if you’re lucky). Not all dresses were made for all body types, and not all body types will look good with just about any dress. That is why I learned that its just as important to know what looks good on you and what accentuates the beauty of your body. Its really almost more important than learning what your style is. After all, what is the point of knowing what and how you like to dress if you cant dress in a way that compliments who you are?
Knowing what accentuates your goodies will
1- Save you time shopping (You will learn how to shop smart!)
2- Keep you cheerful (we have all sobbed over a beautiful dress that looked scary on us!)
3- Save you money! (You wont have to go through the ” I swear it looked good in the fitting room” episode!)
Short & Petite: Show off your compact build with pared-down design
Curvy: Accentuate your womanly shape with a belted cocktail number.
Full Bust: When you’ve got it, support it! Choose a fitted sheath with straps so that you can both show off your curves and wear a no-nonsense bra.
Tall: A long retro hemline is the ideal complement to a rangy frame.
Small Bust : Flaunt your A cups with the most daring neckline you can find!
Pear-Shaped : Fuller on bottom? Choose a ’50s-inspired design with a fitted bodice and an A-line skirt
