A LEOPARD’s Best Friend!

One of the most popular prints that has truly stood the test of time for decades is Leopard. Whether you find it on pants , shirts, shoes , or bags; it has the power to catch an eye at all times. With the different trends that we go with season after season, leopard has always been tweaked to fit and go with almost every trend.

To make a long story short, Leopard has been here to stay for a long time, and since we will always have a staple of this lovely print in our closet, I thought of many Leopard friendly colors and what really compliments this print.

When it comes to this print on pants, here is a guide to what and how you should TOP it off!

1. The Pop of Color

How funky is it to add a pop of color to leopard prints, it makes it that much more vibrant and alive. Popular matches tend to be red and electric blue, however I personally love fuschia and green!

2. The Classics

You can never go wrong when choosing classic colors such as black / white / beige. Usually if you tend to be less daring and find yourself fitting more into the classics then adding a blazer can give an elegant touch to this loud print. For a casual yet subtle look, opt for a white / black tee.

Trend Alert | The “Sporty” Look with Sneakers

Sneakers are no longer reserved for the gym. Comfy athletic footwear is now perfectly acceptable to wear with this season, and can even comprise a modernly cool going out outfit. Sports style is very relevant and many designers include athletic shoes in their collections. Trendy sneakers and gym shoes have become an outfit’s accessory. This season you can find sneakers and gym shoes for every taste, from classic and retro patterns to bold and unusual models.

According to the general fashion trends, neon and metallic colors are hot trends of women’s sneakers and gym shoes of the season. Some designers have even combined two trends in one model.

I currently love my neon Reeboks paired with jeans and a tee as I feel it adds flavor without even trying! And to top it off, you can really give your feet a break from heels while still looking fabulously fashionable!

Denim-Mania | 3 “IN” Trends

As mentioned in my previous blog, Denims have now taken a fashion curve/statement of their own. To add on to my Denim Prints’ blog, I have decided to list the top 3 denim trends that I feel are super eye catchers and a must have this season.

These are all styles that have been really popular among the celebs and denim lovers in general, so you should be able to associate very well with them.

dip-dye-ombre-denim

When ombre is done just right, it looks amazing. Ombre jeans are hot this season and goes well with most tops! Not only are ombre jeans original and eye catching, but they’re also highly flattering. Dark tones of denim at the thighs fading into lighter washes at the ankles elongate legs and slims hips. Vibrant ombre jeans in shades of pink, yellow, or baby blue are also fun alternatives to traditional denim.

polka-dot-denim

Say goodbye to your classic blues and have some fun with polka dot print styles! This print has to be the cutest and most fun for me. Not only do I feel super girly wearing it, it gives a subtle uplift to any look you pull off. Plus with polka dots trending right now, one can only think what better than to wear dots on dots. Give it a try!

coated-waxed-denim

Wax coated jeans are a hot fashion trend, gaining popularity thanks to street style bloggers. Girls, across all ages, have been pretty interested in wearing waxed jeans, especially in colous like burgundy, purple, chocolate brown and black, and here’s why:  They are a nice change to ordinary denim, provide interesting textural interest, and also a great substitute for leather pants at a fraction of the price. These jeans look dressier than ordinary denim, and the vibe is edgy, tough, rock ‘n’ roll and modern.

Who said Comfort can’t meet style!

Are you ready to experience being comfortable and chic at the same time?

As Spring slowly settles in and the sun graces us with its beams, we slowly ditch our ankle boots & winter shoes for more summer’ish soles. And as every season has it, 2013 Spring/Summer will too bring us a new fashion trend. The Loafers, ladies! From the catwalk to the streets and to the posh feet of celebs these  boy’ish flat pumps are making us forget the hot heels and channel our Tom-boy personas.

I have to say I was a little iffy about this new trend at first and wondered if I would get into it or simply allow it to pass me by. Today, I do admit, I have been seduced! Yes they are a bit masculine but I love that, as I love the way they can easily blend and mix with so many various looks.

Loafers can easily top off any outfit, whether you’re going for a night out, or just running to the grocery store, this season’s loafers have all the glam and chicness that make a perfect friendship to any look. This trend puts an edgy spin on the classic loafer style; it reinvented the lackluster loafer into something that’s not just for Grandpa anymore; but for today’s daring fashionistas. They are super comfortable, and contrary to belief they look amazing with feminine clothes. It gives you that boho-chicvibe. You’ll find the new loafer in prints, glitter, embellishment, studs, bright colors, and with tassels. You will need to take my advice and seriously own one this season!

Must-Buy Trend | Leather Sleeves

Leather arms are one of the most fashion forward trends this Winter. We have been seeing a great deal of street style stars working leather into their outfits in new and unexpected ways. Leather sleeves toughen up even the most lady-like coats and jackets. I have been personally seeing the leather sleeves with the army jackets almost everywhere I Look, and I must say, I like what I see!

The key to this look is to contrast textiles to give your closet an edgy, designer feel. 3.1 Philip Lim for example, showcased contrasting tan leather sleeves with electric blue cotton torso; this enhanced the clashing fabrics, but kept it casual and appropriate for daytime.

Stella McCartney also showcased the look on her coats. The designer draped heavy square fabric on her models and enhanced the sleeves with shiny, black leather.

Maison Martin Margiela took the trend to extremes by clashing heavy knit sweaters with full-length leather gloves.

For a less runway more street style look, go for soft cotton tops and T-shirts in the daytime with black or gray. Keep colours fresh, bright and contrasting to enhance the style.

Yes, lets admit it, its gettings distracting with all this shine and this fall they’re everywhere (which is making it really hard to focus). This season is just the one to finally dust off your party wear! Cool girls are mixing in their sequins and metallics with denim, casual t-shirts and lashings of attitude. The glossy, shiny, metallic fabric appears in so many spring/summer 2013 runways.

The Camo Gear!

There’s no doubt that the military trend has legs — it has steadily survived from season to season with nothing more than simple tweaks along the way.

  • For an edgier look, pair your camouflage jeans with a worn-in rocker tee and leather jacket. Add biker boots or studded jeans.
  • Camo can also look cool and girlie quite easily. Just throw a printed utility jacket over your fave white dress then throw on pretty heels and accessories.
  • The military trend can also be something to experiment with at the office; try tucking a crisp button-down blouse into a camouflage skirt or layering a camo dress under a fitted blazer. Cinch the look at your natural waist with a leather belt for a sleek silhouette.
