Apart from the fact that Donatella Versace‘s face can sometimes scare me (too much tanning? Not to mention the hair!!), I must hand it to her when it comes to fashion and knowing exactly how to accentuate all the beauty in a woman’s body.
Rooney Mara and Kate Beckinsale were the first to pop in my head when scrolling through the collection. A dark gothic woman, so mysterious yet intriguing and sexy with a touch of Goddess-like features. The looks were inspired by brother Gianni’s final collection, “an era,” with a dark palette and edgy shapes, Donatella said she finally had “the courage” for such a line.
The collection kept screaming gladiator and crusader style to me (Anyone remembers Xena the warrior princess? which by the way I always thought was super sexy! Even the hairdo was somewhat similar) I feel it empowers woman indirectly and spells out sexy like ABC! Call it a little far fetched, there was definitely a warrior vibe to the collection, as models walked super stiff and confident like the dresses were armor and the runway was their battlefield! Go team VERSACE.
