Who said Comfort can’t meet style!

Are you ready to experience being comfortable and chic at the same time?

As Spring slowly settles in and the sun graces us with its beams, we slowly ditch our ankle boots & winter shoes for more summer’ish soles. And as every season has it, 2013 Spring/Summer will too bring us a new fashion trend. The Loafers, ladies! From the catwalk to the streets and to the posh feet of celebs these  boy’ish flat pumps are making us forget the hot heels and channel our Tom-boy personas.

Who said Comfort can't meet style!

I have to say I was a little iffy about this new trend at first and wondered if I would get into it or simply allow it to pass me by. Today, I do admit, I have been seduced! Yes they are a bit masculine but I love that, as I love the way they can easily blend and mix with so many various looks.

Loafers can easily top off any outfit, whether you’re going for a night out, or just running to the grocery store, this season’s loafers have all the glam and chicness that make a perfect friendship to any look. This trend puts an edgy spin on the classic loafer style; it reinvented the lackluster loafer into something that’s not just for Grandpa anymore; but for today’s daring fashionistas. They are super comfortable, and contrary to belief they look amazing with feminine clothes. It gives you that boho-chic- vibe. You’ll find the new loafer in prints, glitter, embellishment, studs, bright colors, and with tassels. You will need to take my advice and seriously own one this season!

Must-Buy Trend | Leather Sleeves

Leather arms are one of the most fashion forward trends this Winter. We have been seeing a great deal of street style stars working leather into their outfits in new and unexpected ways. Leather sleeves toughen up even the most lady-like coats and jackets. I have been personally seeing the leather sleeves with the army jackets almost everywhere I Look, and I must say, I like what I see!

The key to this look is to contrast textiles to give your closet an edgy, designer feel. 3.1 Philip Lim for example, showcased contrasting tan leather sleeves with electric blue cotton torso; this enhanced the clashing fabrics, but kept it casual and appropriate for daytime.

Stella McCartney also showcased the look on her coats. The designer draped heavy square fabric on her models and enhanced the sleeves with shiny, black leather.

Maison Martin Margiela took the trend to extremes by clashing heavy knit sweaters with full-length leather gloves.

For a less runway more street style look, go for soft cotton tops and T-shirts in the daytime with black or gray. Keep colours fresh, bright and contrasting to enhance the style.

Trendspotting | Brocades

Nothing gets a woman through the fall and winter season like rich lavish fabrics and designs. From lace to velvet brocade, fall fashion has all the styles for a season of luxurious dressing. An offshoot of the Eastern invasion, Japanese brocades were used in everything from pantsuits and girlish mini-dresses to sporty jackets and elegant coats. With designers from Marc Jacobs to Louis Vuitton stitching metallic brocade accents into their Fall 2012 looks, an opulent winter season has definitely been in the forecast.

Other designers perfecting brocades were Jason Wu in his elaborate brocade separates and Proenza Schouler’s Japan-inspired brocade silhouettes. Not to forget the gorgeous brocade designs from Jill Stuart, Yves Saint Laurent and Rebecca Minkoff. However, I would have to say Dolce & Gabbana bagged it in terms of brocade beauty! All you need is one look at the gold, black and white embellishments in their couture dresses, and your inner Indian fashionista will be smitten! Top it off with the fabulous brocade knee boots that hit the runway during the D&G Fall 2012 and you set yourself on a brocade frenzy for the season!

Totally Trending | Metallic & Shine

Yes, lets admit it, its gettings distracting with all this shine and this fall they’re everywhere (which is making it really hard to focus). This season is just the one to finally dust off your party wear! Cool girls are mixing in their sequins and metallics with denim, casual t-shirts and lashings of attitude. The glossy, shiny, metallic fabric appears in so many spring/summer 2013 runways.

The Camo Gear!

There’s no doubt that the military trend has legs — it has steadily survived from season to season with nothing more than simple tweaks along the way.

  • For an edgier look, pair your camouflage jeans with a worn-in rocker tee and leather jacket. Add biker boots or studded jeans.
  • Camo can also look cool and girlie quite easily. Just throw a printed utility jacket over your fave white dress then throw on pretty heels and accessories.
  • The military trend can also be something to experiment with at the office; try tucking a crisp button-down blouse into a camouflage skirt or layering a camo dress under a fitted blazer. Cinch the look at your natural waist with a leather belt for a sleek silhouette.

Its all ON the shoulders!

This season it’s all about sweaters with shoulder bling. Wear them with boyfriend jeans or leather leggings and booties for a military look. Or, pair them with skirts and dress pants for an eighties power vibe. They are also great go-to items during this holiday season.

The Celine Luggage Tote Declared Fashion’s 2012 It-Bag

The Celine luggage tote, which retails for upwards of $2,000 is the official It-handbag of the season. Released too long ago (back in 2010) to still be in the “trend” zone, this bag, as determined as it is covetable, knows no bounds. Everyone from Reese Witherspoon to Emma Roberts to Kate Upton to Leighton Meester and many more has been spotted carrying the house’s tote in endless varieties. There’s classic black, python print, two-tone, mini, off-white, and the list goes on. Céline has been making these It bags for seasons, so some of them are no longer available. But if you’re dying to get your hands on one, check Céline’s website to see if it has the one you want.

Super Trendy | Wedge Sneakers

I have been seeing wedge sneakers on almost every girl who walks me by (myself included), and I had to start my first blog after a long break to write about this current must have!

So how did the once cool and comfortable pair of shoes become the IT thing in town? You can give thanks to the queen of casual cool, Isabel Marant, who re-invented a whole new meaning with her amped-up wedge sneakers, guaranteeing us women to experience the best of both worlds this season! They were sold out instantly after she showed them for spring, and luckily they’re back in stock. However, you can rest assured as almost every brand you might come across has designed a wedge sneaker to add-on to its winter collection. So if Isabel Marant is a little too steep, you are guaranteed a look-alike somewhere else!

ISABEL MARANT — 760$

ASH –  $225

TOPSHOP — $96

Jeffrey Campbell — $206

ASOS — $74.57

NIKE — $130

See By Chloe — $375

Marc by Marc Jacobs — $320

For The Love of DENIM

Lately I have totally been getting obsessed with everything that’s denim. For some reason, it suddenly clicks in my head and totally goes with all my wardrobe. The thing about denim is, it can be so casual to the point where you can wear denim on denim, yet in some cases, can be a beautiful addition to a chic look that gives you a fresh twist to a rather normal / dull outfit.

Forget the fact that you can basically pair this style with just about anything, it seriously does look good with every single color (TRY IT ). To make matters less literal and more visual, take a look at some of my favorite denim incorporated looks!

Lets see if you agree with me by the time you finish going through these pics!
